Mark Basciano is President of the Ontario Home Builders’ Association, an organization comprised of 4,200 member companies with a network of 29 local associations that represent the interests of the residential construction industry in Ontario . A member of OHBA’s Executive Committee, Basciano previously served as the Association’s 1st Vice-President. He has also been very active in his local association, the Niagara Home Builders’ Association having served as its President in 1997 and 1998.
Basciano is the owner and president of the Mountainview Group, a Niagara Region-based company involved in a range of enterprises including land development, residential, commercial and industrial construction and property management. The award-winning firm was founded by his father, Nick in 1979 and Basciano joined the family business in 1992. Today there are 85 full-time employees at Mountainview, they build about 250 homes a year in Niagara , from Fort Erie to Grimsby and recently established a custom home and renovation division.
Basciano received his BA in Urban Geography from McMaster University where he also played varsity football.
